Diamond Wedding Anniversary George and Dorothy Hart A pair of childhood sweethearts have proved that love can last as the celebrate 60 years of marriage. George and Dorothy Hart first met at Knottingley Salvation Army in 1954, they married in 1960, George was 19 and Dorothy 23, they have three sons Kevin and John (twins) and Darren. George said that there was no secret to a long and happy marriage, just be honest with each other and straight, no secrets, it has worked for us, we have been very lucky in life living through a time when there was plenty of work in the area and have had a long and happy marriage always being content with our lot and living within our means, on top of that we have three fantastic lads who have completed the family with four grandchildren and a fantastic great grandson. We also have three lovely daughters in law.
